District 4 Public Health Liaison Program

The Public Health Liaison program works with community medical providers to enhance the awareness of disease reporting, promote the use of Public Health resources, and serve as a link between Public Health and medical care providers, long-term care facilities, clinical laboratories, schools and veterinarians in the district. This relationship will enhance disease surveillance, promote use of public health prevention programs and resources, and promote better communication among public health and the broad provider communities.

Goals of the program include: increasing reporting of communicable diseases and unusual events (including those possibly related to bioterrorism), creating and maintaining an up-to-date database of the healthcare providers in the district, conduct training on disease reporting procedures, and promoting use of public health prevention programs and resources.
